Bier vom Fass

(Beers on Tap...and a few cans)

Stiegl: Stiegl-Goldbräu is a traditional Salzburg beer specialty with 12° Plato and a characteristic golden-yellow color. A full-bodied beer with a gentle bitterness brewed using indigenous ingredients. Wonderfully refreshing and very agreeable.

Brewery: Stieglbrauerei zu Salzburg

Beer type: Lager/Helles (5% ABV)

Stiegl Paracelsus Zwickl: Only Austrian ingredients from controlled biological cultivation are used in this amber-colored, natural and traditional beer specialty from Salzburg. When brewing this beer we add Laufener Landweizen to the blend – a fine ancient grain we grow on healthy land and malt ourselves at the Stiegl-Farm Wildshut. This completes the velvelty mild taste – an absolute delight.

Paulaner Hefe: Paulaner Hefeweizen/Weissbier is the #1 Hefe-Weißbier in Germany and one of the world’s favorites. Naturally cloudy and shining silky gold in the glass under a really strong head of foam. At the first mouthful this Weißbier classic has a mild aroma of banana. Finer palates detect a trace of mango and pineapple and the balance between sweet and bitter. Beer connoisseurs appreciate the fine note of yeast and the mild but sparkling mix of aromas. It is a typical beergarden beer, which brings people together all over the world.

Reissdorf Kӧlsch: It's light, soft, and delicious, with a minty, hop aroma; sweet, vanillalike, malt flavors; and a crisp, dry cedary finish. It's typically lighter than a Pilsner in color with a slightly malty, fairly soft palate. The finish is decidely dry due to its high attenuation and firm hop character. The cleanness is a result of a fairly long, cold maturation of two to six weeks.

Brewery: Privat-brauerei Heinrich Reissdorf

Beer type: Kolsch (4.8% ABV)

Weihenstephaner Hefe: Our golden-yellow wheat beer, with its fine-pored white foam, smells of cloves and impresses consumers with its refreshing banana flavor. It is full bodied and with a smooth yeast taste. To be enjoyed at any time (always a pleasure / enjoyment), goes excellently with fish and seafood, with spicy cheese and especially with the traditional Bavarian veal sausage. Brewed according to our centuries-old brewing tradition on the Weihenstephan hill.

Hirter Morchl: Platinum Medal Winner in the Amber Lager category for the World Beer Championship, this beer is not solely unique as a brand, but it is also created completely different to other dark beers. It is brewed with dark malts, hops, and caramel malt. It therefore, presents itself to the connoisseur and is characterized through a malt accentuated, rather dry "first taste" and a convenient, dry sweet finish.

Brewery: Privatbrauerei Hirt

Beer type: Lager/Munich Dunkel (5% ABV)

Weihenstephaner Festbier: Deep gold in color, this beer is luminous in the glass. From the very first sip, the full-bodied flavor is immediately perceptible – a balanced harmony of hop and malt aromas. Festbier is delicious with simple dishes, roasted chicken and flavorful Alpine cheese.

Paulaner Munchner Lager: This beer is credited for being one of the most popular Munich lagers. Moreover, our brewmasters were among the first to bring Munich lager beer to the Bavarian taps. The recipe for success remains: A perfect balance of malty character and the light bitterness of hops.

WEIN GLAS:

  • Rosé (are made from red grapes, but the grape skins are removed from the must after a short period of maceration (usually less than 24 hours). The skins give the wine its pink color but do not impart much tannin. Rosé wines can have flavors common to red wines, like strawberry, cherry, and raspberry, and also more typical white wine flavors, like citrus and tropical fruit)

  • Chardonnay (is a dry full-bodied white wine that was planted in large quantities for the first time in France. When oak-aged, Chardonnay will have spicy, bourbon-y notes. Unoaked wines are lighter and zesty with apple and citrus flavors)

  • Pinot Grigio (is a dry light-bodied white grape that is planted heavily in Italy, but also in France and Germany. Wines are light to middle-weight and easy drinking, often with some bitter flavor on the palate [bitter almond, quinine])

  • Riesling (always very high in acid, when made as a table wine Rieslings can be harmoniously sweet (sweet and sour) or dry (very acidic). The wine is polarizing because some people find dry styles too acidic and sweet styles too cloying, but sweetness is always a wine making decision and not inherent to the grape)

  • Sauvignon Blanc (is a dry white grape first widely planted in France. Wines are tart, typically with herbal, “green” fruit flavors)

  • Grӥner Veltliner (Austria’s most important wine is produced in a myriad of styles, the most popular of which are lean, herbaceous, and peppery wines with mouth-watering acidity)

  • Gewӥrztraminer (the first aroma you’ll come across in a glass is its tell-tale lychee aroma. If you’ve never smelled lychee – canned or fresh – then this aroma will be more like ‘sweet rose.’ The lychee aroma is usually so intense, it’s one of Gewürztraminer’s ‘tells.' If you’re drinking high quality Gewürztraminer you’ll find a great many complex aromatics including Ruby Red grapefruit, rose petal, ginger and a smoky aroma similar to burnt incense)

  • Merlot ( is loved for it’s boisterous black cherry flavors, supple tannins, and chocolatey finish. On the high end, it’s often mistaken with Cabernet Sauvignon and commonly blended with it)

  • Pinot Noir (is a dry, light-bodied red that was first widely planted in France. The wines typically have higher acidity and a soft, smooth, low-tannin finish)

  • Cabernet Sauvignon (a full-bodied red grape first heavily planted in the Bordeaux region. Today, it’s the most popular wine variety in the world!)

  • Red Blend (the phrase “red blend” refers to red wines that are made from different types of grapes blended together, rather than a wine made from just one single type of grape. Red blends are produced all over the world from an array of grape varieties)
